Cryptocurrencies acceptance for software purchase – Generally, I have been dealing with cryptocurrencies for years and have already invested in some just to be “there”. In my opinion, it is a very interesting development, but you have to be careful, there are many “black sheep” on the way. As an investment for “an average consumers”, it is certainly much too speculative to invest in cryptocurrencies. However, it should not be largely considered as a means of investing, rather as a means of payment.
Bitcoin as a means of payment
In the past, I had already offered Bitcoin as a method of payment for my software. However, I have now decided not to offer Bitcoin as the only cryptocurrency because the payment process has become far too expensive. In the case of cryptocurrencies, the payment process is carried out as a transfer of a certain number of coins; in addition, a fee must be paid to the network of the respective currency. This is exactly the current problem for Bitcoin. Bitcoin has started making the payment of the smallest sums possible. Meanwhile, the fee for the transfer of Bitcoin has become much too high, because the coin itself has become so expensive.
Alternative cryptocurrencies
Currently, I have considered Coinpayments Company as a provider because; it allows payment in many different cryptocurrencies. At the moment, I am trying this payment option as an additional feature in my websites. Here is an example of TSContract contract management. In order to make the whole thing more attractive, I am currently providing a discount for the payment with a cryptocurrency. This is different for each software. You will see the respective purchase price BEFORE you buy.
The whole project here is an attempt to make these currencies more attractive. I also reserve the right to stop this attempt any time. However, I hope that it will not happen.
